Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove bolt securing power steering pressure hose to upper engine mount.
2. Disconnect power steering pressure hose from pump and allow fluid to drain into a suitable container, then position hose and ignition wire separator aside.
3. Remove engine front support insulator, then loosen (but do not remove) power steering pump pulley bolts.
4. Rotate drive belt tensioner clockwise as viewed from drive belt side of engine, then remove accessory drive belt and power steering pump pulley.
5. Disconnect power steering reservoir pump hose from power steering pump, then remove pressure hose clamp from pump bracket.

6. Remove power steering pump bracket nuts and bolts, then bracket and pump.

NOTE: Do not attempt to disassemble any part of power steering pump. If service is required, entire pump assembly must be replaced.

7. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Do not tighten power steering pump pulley bolts until accessory drive belt has been installed.
b. When installing accessory drive belt, rotate tensioner assembly clockwise as viewed from belt side of engine.
c. Refill power steering fluid reservoir and bleed system.
