Variable Induction Control Actuator: Service and Repair

ELECTRIC ACTUATOR AND CABLE ASSEMBLY

1. Perform the fuel pressure release procedure. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove upper intake manifold.
4. Remove screws retaining water pump pulley shield to LH valve cover. Disconnect vent hose and remove water pump pulley shield.

Actuator Cable:

5. Disconnect actuator cable from runner control lever, cable bracket, water bypass stud and cable bridge.
6. Disconnect harness connector from electric actuator and cable assembly.

Actuator And Cable Assembly:

7. Remove bolts attaching Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) electric actuator and cable assembly to LH valve cover. Remove electric actuator and cable assembly.
8. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten electric actuator and cable assembly bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
