Removal and Installation

Throttle Body:





REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove water pump pulley shield retaining screws and shield from LH valve cover.
4. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from throttle position sensor at connector and remove wiring retainer from throttle body retaining stud bolt.
5. Disconnect accelerator cable and speed control actuator from the throttle lever.
6. Remove accelerator cable bracket retainers and accelerator cable bracket. Position cables and accelerator cable bracket aside.
7. Remove three throttle body retaining bolts and one stud bolt.
8. Carefully separate throttle body from intake manifold.
9. Remove and discard throttle body gasket between throttle body and intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.

CAUTION: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into manifold.

2. Install throttle body, new throttle body gasket and the retaining bolts and stud bolt to the intake manifold. Tighten retaining bolts and stud bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
3. Install accelerator cable bracket. Tighten retainers to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
4. Connect fuel charging wiring to throttle position sensor at connector and install wiring retainer to the throttle body retaining stud bolt.
5. Connect accelerator cable and speed control actuator to the throttle lever.
6. Install water pump pulley shield. Tighten retaining screws securely.
7. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
8. Connect battery ground cable.
