EGR Valve: Service and Repair
EGR Valve:
REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
3. With a 22 mm crowfoot wrench, completely loosen the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut from EGR valve.
4. Remove two retaining bolts, EGR valve, and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean EGR valve sealing surfaces with a plastic-tipped scraper to remove any residual gasket material.
2. Position EGR tube into EGR valve and loosely connect tube nut to EGR valve.
3. Install new EGR valve gasket and bolts. Tighten bolts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft lb).
4. Tighten EGR tube nut at EGR valve to 35-45 Nm (26-33 ft lb).
5. Connect vacuum hose to EGR valve.
6. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
