Right Side

1. Remove upper intake manifold.
2. Remove ignition wires from ignition coils and spark plugs, then remove ignition coil as follows:
a. Disconnect battery ground cable, then fuel charging wiring or engine control sensor wiring from ignition coil.
b. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from radio ignition interference capacitor.
c. Remove EGR vacuum regulator control from upper intake manifold.
d. Disconnect ignition wires by squeezing locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward, then remove ignition coil bolts or screws and ignition coil.
e. Remove radio ignition interference capacitor, then disconnect coil ground wire.
3. Remove crankcase ventilation tube from righthand valve cover.
4. Remove fuel charging wiring retainer and in-line connector wiring bracket nuts and bracket from righthand valve cover stud bolts. Position bracket and fuel charging wiring aside.
5. Remove engine control sensor wiring nuts, then wiring from righthand valve cover stud bolts. Position engine control sensor wiring aside.

6. Loosen valve cover bolts and stud bolts in sequence.
7. Carefully remove valve cover from cylinder head, then gaskets from cover.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Clean valve cover sealing surfaces using shop towel and suitable metal cleaner. Apply a 0.31 inch diameter bead of black silicone rubber sealant F4AZ-19562-B, or equivalent, at two places on valve cover sealing surfaces where front cover and cylinder heads contact.
b. Install new valve cover gaskets onto valve cover.

c. Torque valve cover bolts and stud bolts in sequence to 5.9-8.8 ft lb within six minutes of applying sealer.
