2. Remove intake and exhaust camshafts from cylinder heads.
3. Inspect camshafts and cylinder heads for wear or damage. Replace components as necessary.
4. If camshaft damper replacement is necessary, proceed as follows:
a. Wrap righthand intake camshaft with shop towel, heater hose or similar item, then install in suitable vise with jaw protectors. Do not overtighten vise or holding fixture.
b. If damper does not have attachment holes, drill two 3/16 inch holes, 0.35 inch deep, 0.393 inch from outside of center hub, 180° apart and tap with 6mm x 1.00 thread tap, 0.35 inch deep.

g. Install camshaft damper until fully seated against camshaft nose shoulder.
INSTALLATION
1. Ensure camshaft keyway is at 11 o'clock position before installing. Failure to do so may lead to engine damage.
2. Lubricate camshafts with engine assembly lubricant, then install camshafts into cylinder heads with timing marks on camshaft sprockets aligned.
3. Install timing chains and rocker arms.
