These Special Service Instructions are only for vehicles as part of applicable emissions warranty time and mileage coverage. If the vehicle is outside the emissions warranty time and mileage limits, do not perform Special Service Instruction 97T01.

Warranty claims under this Special Service Instruction will only be accepted for inspecting the vehicle's calibration level and, if necessary, reprogramming a vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

Where the decision chart indicates "Normal Service Outside 97T01" - proceed with normal servicing outside of this Special Service Instruction and claim for this service under the appropriate warranty.

When service under this program has been completed, obtain an Authorized Modifications label and list the date, dealer number, the change authorization as 97T01, and annotate on the label "Reprogrammed PCM Per SSI 97T01". Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information label suitable for installing the label. Clean the surface, apply the label, and cover it with a clear label overlay. Return the vehicle to the customer.
