Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor - 4.6L (2V):






REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its fuel trim. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the fuel trim.

2. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
3. Remove two Throttle Position sensor retaining screws.
4. Remove Throttle Position sensor.
5. To install throttle position sensor, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten retaining screws to 2.8-3.8 Nm (25-34 lb in).
