Component Tests and General Diagnostics

WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly Flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.

With Scan Tool
- Key OFF.
- Before releasing fuel system pressure at the fuel pressure relief valve, refer to the Service Precautions to avoid fuel spillage and injury. Service Precautions
- Install the fuel pressure tester.
- Using scan tool, enter output test mode and run the fuel pump to obtain maximum fuel pressure.
- Verify that the observed pressure is within specified limits.
