Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamps and remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect accelerator cable and speed control cable from throttle body lever.
3. Disconnect engine control sensor extension wire from Throttle Position sensor (TPS) and Idle Air Control valve (IAC).
4. Remove four throttle body retaining nuts.
Intake Manifold:
5. Carefully separate throttle body from upper intake manifold.
6. Remove and discard throttle body gasket.
Installation
NOTE: If scraping is necessary, do not damage gasket surfaces or allow material to drop into upper intake manifold.
1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.
2. Install throttle body with new throttle body gasket on the four studs of the upper intake manifold. Tighten retaining nuts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb.ft.)
3. Connect engine control sensor extension wire to the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.
4. Connect accelerator cable and speed control cable to throttle body lever.
5. Install air cleaner outlet tube and securely tighten engine air cleaner tube clamp.
