Fuel Filler Hose: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank:

Removal and Installation
1. Remove three filler neck retaining screws and fuel tank filler cap.

2. Drain fuel from fuel tank: Service and Repair

3. Raise vehicle.

4. Remove bolt retaining fuel tank filler pipe and fuel tank filler pipe shield to rear floor pan.

5. Remove clamps securing fuel tank filler pipe to fuel tank to filler pipe hose and relief discharge vent.

6. Remove fuel tank filler pipe.

7. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten fuel tank filler pipe and fuel tank filler pipe shield retaining bolt to 4.0-5.6 Nm (36-49 lb.in.).

8. Tighten fuel tank to filler pipe hose and fuel tank vent to filler pipe hose clamps to 1.8-2.6 Nm (16-23 lb.in.). Tighten fuel filler neck to body bolts to 2.7-3.7 Nm (24-32 lb.in.).

Fuel Tank to Fuel Filler Pipe Hose

Removal and Installation
1. Remove fuel tank filler pipe as outlined above.

2. Loosen hose clamps on fuel tank to filler pipe hose to the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the fuel tank.

3. Inspect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose for deterioration and damage and replace as necessary.

4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten hose clamps to 8-2.6 Nm (16-23 lb.in.).
