Catalyst Shield: Description and Operation

Purpose
Exhaust shields, consisting of formed metal sheets, are used to deflect heat away from the underbody. They are attached to the exhaust system or welded to the catalytic converter.

Features

^ The muffler shields are clamped to the muffler body.

^ The service catalyst shields are clamped to the catalyst shell.
