Assembly

CAUTION: Handle the main control valve body carefully. If any of the components are damaged, it may become the cause of malfunctions in the transaxle.





1. Install the (A) oil strainer into the lower control valve body.





2. Set the filter into the lower separator plate.








3. Set the new (C) lower gasket, (B) lower separator plate and a new (A) premain lower gasket onto the lower valve body.

NOTE: Do not confuse the (A) premain lower gasket with the (B) lower gasket.





4. Install the (A) premain control valve body onto the (B) lower valve body.





5. Install the (A) rubber check balls and the (B) oil strainers into their proper positions in the premain control valve body.





6. Install the rubber check balls into their proper positions in the main control valve body.








7. Install the new (A) main gasket, (B) separator plate, and the new (C) premain gasket.

NOTE: Do not confuse the (A) premain gasket with the (B) main gasket.





8. Install the two (A) screws securing the main gasket, main separator plate, and the premain gasket to the main control valve body.

NOTE: If the bolts are difficult to tighten, do not force the bolts in. The gasket may be out of place. Remove the valve body and reset the gasket.





9. Use Valve Body Guide Pins T80L-77100-A to set the main control valve body onto the premain control valve body. Install and hand tighten the A bolts.
A bolt length: 30 mm (1.81 inch).





10. Install and hand tighten the B bolts.
B bolt length: 40 mm (1.575 inch).





11. Install and hand tighten the C bolts. C bolt length: 50 mm (1.969 inch).





12. Set the oil filter in the upper separator plate.








13. Install a new (A) upper gasket, (B) upper separator plate, and a new (C) main upper gasket onto the upper control valve body.

NOTE: Do not confuse the (A) upper gasket with the (B) main upper gasket.





14. Install the (A) screw securing the main upper gasket, the upper separator plate, and the upper gasket to the upper control valve body.





15. Align the throttle plug assembly groove and the bolt hole of the upper valve body, then set the upper control valve onto the main control valve body. Install the bolts and finger tighten only.





16. Install and hand tighten the C bolts.
C bolt length: 50 mm (1.969 inch).





17. Install and hand tighten the D bolts.
D bolt length: 82mm (3.228 inch).





18. Install and hand tighten the E bolts.
E bolt length: 90mm (3.543 inch).





19. Install and hand tighten the 8 bolt.
8 bolt length: 95mm (3.740 inch).





20. Tighten all the valve body bolts evenly and gradually.





21. Install the 2-3 shift solenoid and the 3-4 shift solenoid.





22. Install the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid and the 1-2 shift solenoid.





23. Apply automatic transaxle fluid to the new O-rings and install them onto the oil pipe assembly. Install the oil pipe assembly.





24. Apply automatic transaxle fluid to a new (A) O-ring and install it onto the filter. Install the filter.
