Transmission Range Switch (ATX)
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove the manual control lever nut securing the park actuator support to the manual control lever.
4. Remove the park actuator support from the manual control lever.
Transmission Range Switch Electrical Connectors:
5. Disconnect the three electrical connectors located on the top of the transaxle.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector located on the front side of the transaxle.
Transmission Range Switch:
7. Remove the two bolts securing the Transmission Range (TR) switch.
8. Remove the bolts securing the electrical connector brackets to the top of the transaxle case.
9. Remove the TR switch from the manual control lever.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the TR switch onto the manual control lever.
2. Install the bolts securing the electrical connector brackets to the case.
3. Install the bolts securing the TR switch but do not tighten them.
4. Connect the electrical connectors located on the top and on the side of the transaxle case.
5. Adjust the TR switch.
6. Tighten the manual control lever nut to 44-64 Nm (33-47 lb ft).
7. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
8. Connect the battery ground cable.
