Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Disconnect electrical connector at the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid.
3. Disconnect the two vacuum lines at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
4. Remove the canister purge solenoid bolt and remove solenoid.
5. To install reverse the removal procedure.
