Pinpoint Test E: A/C Blower Motor Does Not Operate

E1 Check Fuse
- Key OFF.
- Check to 30A HEATER fuse located in the interior fuse junction panel.
Is the fuse OK?
Yes
GO to E4.
No
GO to E2.

E2 Check System
- Key OFF.
- Replace the 30A HEATER fuse.
- Key ON.
Did the fuse fail again?
Yes
GO to E3.
No
GO to E4.

E3 Check For Short To Ground
- Key OFF.
- Locate and disconnect the interior fuse junction panel connector C2.
- Locate and disconnect the A/C blower motor connector.
- Measure the resistance of the "BL/W" wire between the A/C blower motor connector and ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
Reconnect the interior fuse junction panel connector C2. REPLACE the 30A HEATER fuse.
GO to E4.
No
SERVICE the "BL/W" wire.

E4 Check The A/C Blower Motor
- Perform the A/C Blower Motor component test.
Is the A/C blower motor OK?
Yes
GO to E5.
No
REPLACE the blower motor.

E5 Check Blower Motor Switch
- Perform the Blower Motor Switch component test.
Is the blower motor switch OK?
Yes
GO to E6.
No
REPLACE the blower motor switch.

E6 Check Power To A/C Blower Motor
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect the A/C blower motor connector.
- Key ON.
- Measure the voltage on the "BL/W" wire at the A/C blower motor connector.
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to E7.
No
SERVICE the "BL/W" wire.

E7 Check A/C Blower Motor Switch Ground
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect the blower motor switch connector.
- Measure the resistance of the "BK" wire between the blower motor switch connector and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to E8.
No
SERVICE the "BK" wire.

E8 Check Wire Between The A/C Blower Motor And The A/C Blower Motor Resistor
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect the A/C blower motor connector.
- Disconnect the A/C blower motor resistor connector C2.
- Measure the resistance of the "BL/BK" wire between the A/C blower motor connector and the A/C blower motor resistor connector C2.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPLACE the A/C blower motor resistor.
No
SERVICE the "BL/BK" wire.
