Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Drain engine oil, then remove righthand upper slash shield.
3. Remove righthand and lefthand lower splash shields.
4. Remove exhaust pipe front mounting flange and exhaust pipe support bracket from exhaust manifold.
5. Remove oil pan to transaxle mounting bolts, then support oil pan with a jack stand.
6. Remove oil pan to engine block attaching bolts.

CAUTION: Do not force a prying tool between engine block and oil pan when trying to remove pan. This may cause damage to oil pan contact surface.

7. Using a suitable prying tool, carefully pry oil pan from engine block at point shown.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten oil pan to engine block bolts to 6-8 ft lb. Tighten oil pan to transaxle bolts to 27-38 ft lb.
