Air Door Actuator / Motor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Loosen the instrument panel and pull it back from the cowl.
3. Remove the A/C electronic door actuator motor electrical connector from the bracket on the A/C evaporator housing.
A/C Electronic Door Actuator Motor:
4. Lift the A/C electronic door actuator motor vertically approximately 12 mm (1/2 inch) to disengage it from the bracket and the actuator shaft, then pull the A/C electronic door actuator motor back toward the passenger compartment.
INSTALLATION
1. Insert the A/C electronic door actuator motor on the A/C evaporator housing.
2. Insert the actuator shaft into the A/C air temperature control door. (Manually moving the A/C air temperature control door will help engage the shaft.)
3. Attach the actuator electrical connector to the bracket on the A/C evaporator housing.
4. Install the instrument panel.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
NOTE: On vehicles equipped with Electronic Engine Control (EEC), when the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the EEC processor relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.
