Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery cables and remove battery and tray.
2. Remove plastic pushpins holding acid shield to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) mounting bracket, then remove the acid shield.

3. Disconnect 19-pin connector from HCU wiring harness, then disconnect 4-pin connector from HCU motor pump relay.
4. Remove two inlet and four outlet port tubes from HCU, then plug each port to prevent spilling brake fluid.
5. Remove relay mounting bracket nut.
6. Remove HCU assembly to mounting bracket nuts, then the assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
8. Torque three screws to 12-18 ft lb.
