Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by operating the active restraint system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

Mechanical
- Inspect safety belt webbing for integrity.

Electrical
- Burnt fuse.
- Bare, damaged or disconnected wire.
- connector not tightly engaged.
- Safety belt warning indicator lamp burnt or damaged.

3. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
