Cylinder Identification Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft Position Sensor:





REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.

3. Remove CMP sensor retaining screw and remove sensor from engine.

INSTALLATION

1. Make sure CMP sensor mounting surface is clean and that O-ring is in proper location.

2. Position CMP sensor onto engine and install retaining bolt. Tighten retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 in lb).

CAUTION: Do not overtighten CMP sensor retaining bolt or damage to sensor or engine mounting surface may occur.

3. Connect fuel charging wiring to CMP sensor.

4. Connect battery ground cable.
