Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters

Typical Breakout Box Voltage Readings:

- These voltage readings are typical for a normal vehicle with diagnostic harness attached (except for positive battery cable lead).

- Do not connect the positive lead of the diagnostic harness or Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor tee until directed to do so.

- The SPOUT and IDM detectors in the diagnostic harness will not work unless the positive and negative leads of the diagnostic harness are connected.

- The vehicle battery voltage must be at least 12 volts DC.

- Be careful not to bring a fluorescent trouble lamp close to the vehicle wiring. If the key is ON and the CKP sensor is disconnected, the Ignition Control Module (ICM) may fire the coil.

- When measuring DC voltage readings, connect the positive lead to the jack identified with a (+) sign and the negative lead to the jack with a (-) sign.
