AIS22 - IMRC Housing Assembly Bench Test-Movement Check

^ Position IMRC housing assemblies on bench such that valve plates are free to rotate.

^ Apply 34 kPa (10.0 in Hg) vacuum to the IMRC actuator inlet port. Valve plates should rotate to the closed position (actuator lever mechanism contacts stop screw).

^ Release vacuum, valve plates should rotate quickly and freely to the open position (actuator lever mechanism contacts return stop).

^ Repeat applying vacuum and releasing several times to confirm freedom of movement.

^ Do the valve plates rotate without stick/bind/grab in response to vacuum signal?

YES -- IMRC housing assembly is functioning correctly. Return to AIS13 to confirm proper system function. AIS13 - Check Both Lt and Rt Bank IMRC Function at Idle

NO -- Refer to Intake Manifold Runner Control System / Service and Repair / IMRC Housing Assembly Cleaning Procedure. Return to AIS21 after cleaning procedure is complete.
