INSTALLATION OF FUEL FILLER PIPE GROUND STRAP

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS

GROUND STRAP INSTALLATION





1. From right rear underside of car, inspect for presence of a ground strap between the metal filler pipe shield and wheel house flange. See Figure 1.

If ground strap is present, the vehicle may be released.

If ground strap is not present, go to step 2.

2. Install ground strap D5FZ-19AO95-A as shown in Figure 1. Push clip on one end of the strap onto the wheel house flange and clip on the other end onto the metal filler pipe shield as shown. Be sure both clips are pushed on as far as possible. A small hammer may be needed to fully seat the clips.

3. Using an ohmmeter or suitable conductivity tester, check for continuity between the ground strap and the vehicle antenna base. Also, check for continuity between the ground strap and the metal filler pipe shield.

If both continuity checks are OK, the vehicle may be released.

If the continuity check to the antenna base is not OK, move the clip at the wheel house flange slightly back and forth until continuity is obtained. If the continuity check to the metal filler pipe shield is not OK, move the clip at the filler pipe shield slightly back and forth until continuity is obtained.

4. Release the vehicle.
