Brake/Shifter Interlock System
BRAKE/SHIFTER INTERLOCK SYSTEMThe Probe equipped with the CD4E uses a brake/shifter interlock system. The system is designed so that the driver must depress the brake pedal to move the lever out of park (P) position. The brake does not have to be depressed when shifting into or out of neutral (N) position. A vehicle loss of power will prevent shifter movement from park. The lever can still be moved by using the vehicle in the lock mechanism on the console.
