DT5 - Check Continuity of PSP Signal Circuit

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor disconnected.

- Measure resistance between the PSP signal test pin at the breakout box and the same PSP signal pin at the sensor vehicle harness connector.

- Measure resistance between the VREF test pin at the breakout box and the same VREF pin at the sensor vehicle harness connector.

- Measure resistance between SIG RTN test pin at the breakout box and the same SIG RTN pin at the vehicle harness connector.

- Is each resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Go to DT6. DT6 - Check PSP Signal For Short to Power or Ground

No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun Quick Test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
