Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The air cleaner provides clean air to the induction system by directing outside air through a filter and into the intake manifold.

OPERATION
Outside air enters from the air cleaner intake resonator through an opening in the front fender and then moves into the engine air cleaner. Once in the engine air cleaner, air is filtered through the air cleaner element. This filtered air then travels through the mass air flow sensor to the air cleaner outlet tube, engine air intake resonators and into the throttle body.
