Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Throttle Position Sensor:
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
2. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor from engine control sensor wiring.
3. Remove two throttle position sensor retaining screws.
4. Remove throttle position sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. Reverse Removal procedure.
2. Tighten retaining screws to 2.8-3.8 Nm (25-34 in lb).
