Ignition Coil Pack
REMOVAL1. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from ignition coils and radio ignition interference capacitors.
Removing Ignition Wires At Coil Pack:
2. Disconnect ignition wires by squeezing locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward.
Coil Pack And Bracket:
3. Remove four ignition coil retaining screws and remove ignition coils and radio ignition interference capacitors. Save radio ignition interference capacitors for reinstallation with ignition coils.
INSTALLATION
1. Position ignition coils and radio ignition interference capacitors to mounting bracket.
2. Install retaining screws and tighten to 5-7 Nm (40-61 in lb).
3. Apply Silicone Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft WA-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A to all ignition wire spark plug boots.
4. Install each ignition wire connector to the proper terminal on the ignition coil. Make sure boots are fully seated.
5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the ignition coils and radio ignition interference capacitors.
