Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove fuel filler cap and release the fuel tank pressure.

3. Relieve fuel system pressure, refer to the Fuel Pressure Release Procedure. Fuel Pressure Release

Fuel Injector:

4. Remove fuel supply manifold assembly.

5. Remove fuel injector electrical connectors.

Intake Manifold:

6. Lift injectors out of the manifold while gently rocking from side to side.

7. Inspect injector body, end cap and washer for signs of dirt and deterioration. Replace as required. If hat is missing, look for it in the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Injector:

1. Replace and lubricate the two injector O-rings on each injector with clean engine oil.

CAUTION: Do not use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors.

2. Install fuel injectors using a light, twisting, pushing motion.

3. Install fuel supply manifold assembly.

4. Install fuel injector electrical connectors.

5. Install fuel filler cap.

6. Connect negative battery cable.

7. Turn the ignition switch ON/OFF several times to pressurize the fuel system, then check for leaks.
