AIS3 - Verify TP Sensor In Range

^ Key Off.

^ Disconnect PCM. Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

^ Install breakout box and connect PCM to breakout box.

^ Key On, Engine Off.

^ Measure the voltage between Test Pin 47 and Test Pin 46 at the breakout box.

^ Slowly move throttle from closed to wide open throttle position and observe the voltage for smooth reading change.

^ Release throttle and allow to return to fully closed position.

^ Is the average TP reading between 0.65 and 1.25 volts at closed throttle position?

YES -- Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Go to AIS4. AIS4 - Check For Throttle Body Sticking, Binding, Grabbing

NO -- Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Replace throttle body or TP sensor as necessary.
