KD1 - Check CANP Solenoid Electrical Operation

- Key "ON", engine "OFF".

- Enter Output State Diagnostic test mode, refer to Quick Test (Extracting and Clearing Codes)/Output State Diagnostic Test Mode. Output State Diagnostic Test Mode

- Disconnect Canister Purge (CANP) solenoid.

- Connect Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM) positive test lead to VPWR circuit and negative test lead to CANP circuit at the CANP solenoid vehicle harness connector.

- DVOM on 20 volt scale.

- While observing DVOM depress and release the throttle several times to cycle output.

- Does CANP circuit cycle 0.2 volt or greater?

Yes -- Remain in Output State test mode. Go to KD2. KD2 - Check CANP Resistance

No -- Exit Output State test mode. Go to KD6. KD6 - Check VPWR to CANP
