Programmable Speedometer Odometer Module (PSOM) Circuit:
DESCRIPTION
The Programmable Speedometer/Odometer Module (PSOM) receives input from the Rear Anti-Lock Brake Sensor (RABS) mounted on the rear axle differential. The PSOM sends this input signal information to the Speed Control module and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
NOTE
You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when you have been directed here from Diagnostic Routines
REMEMBER
To prevent the replacement of good components, the following non-Electronic Engine Controls (EEC) areas may be at fault:
- Vehicle speed control system
- Rear anti-lock brake system
- Ring gear inside differential
- Instrumentation system
This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose the following
- PSOM output to the PCM
- Harness circuits: PSOM(+) PSOM(-)
- PCM
