DD90 - Check For Intermittent Sensor Damage
Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 327 indicates the EGR Position (EGRP) sensor input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was below the minimum acceptable voltage sometime during vehicle operation. Continuous Memory DTC 337 indicates the EGRP sensor input to the PCM was above the maximum acceptable voltage sometime during vehicle operation.
Possible causes of DTC 327:
- Damaged EGRP sensor EGR valve assembly.
- Intermittent open in EGRP sensor SIG RTN circuit.
- Intermittent short to ground in EGRP SIG circuit.
- Intermittent open in EGRP VREF circuit
Possible causes of DTC 337.
- Damaged EGRP sensor EGR valve assembly.
- Intermittent open in EGRP SIG circuit.
- Intermittent short to power in EGRP SIG circuit.
- Enter Key On Engine Off Continuous Monitor Test Mode.
- Observe Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (DVOM) or STAR LED for indication of a fault while performing the following:
- Lightly tap on the EGRP sensor and wiggle the sensor vehicle harness connector to simulate road shock.
- Is a fault indicated?
Yes -- Inspect the EGRP sensor connector and connector terminals. If OK, replace the EGRP sensor EGR valve assembly. Clear continuous memory.
Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
No -- Go to DD91. DD91 - Check For Intermittent Harness Damage
