REMOVAL

Spark Plug Wire Remover:






1. When removing ignition wires from spark plugs, use Spark Plug Wire Remover T74P-6666-A. Grasp and twist the spark plug boot side to side on spark plug insulator to free boot. Use special tool to pull ignition wire spark plug boot from spark plug.

CAUTION: Do not pull on ignition wire directly, the wire may separate from the connector inside the boot.

2. When removing ignition wires from distributor cap or ignition coil, grasp boot by hand and remove with twisting and pulling motion.

INSTALLATION
1. Whenever an ignition wire is removed from a spark plug, ignition coil or distributor cap, or a new ignition wire is installed, coat the entire interior surface of the boot with Silicone Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A, (Motorcraft WA-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A with a small clean tool prior to installation.
2. Install ignition wires starting with No. 1 terminal. Ensure ignition wires are properly seated on the terminals.

NOTE: The No. 1 terminal is identified on distributor cap.

3. Remove ignition wire separators from ignition wire set and install them on new set in same relative position. Install ignition wire separators on valve covers.
4. Connect ignition wires to proper spark plugs.
5. Install ignition wire to the ignition coil.
