Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

Fuel Vapor Canister Purge Regulator Valve:

PURPOSE
The fuel vapor canister purge regulator valve regulates the amount of evaporative vapors drawn from the fuel vapor canister.

OPERATION
The fuel vapor canister purge regulator valve is controlled by the powertrain control module and opens a passage between the fuel vapor canister and the intake manifold.

LOCATION
The valve is located under the air cleaner outlet tube.
