QT7 Perform ABS Diagnostic Trouble Code Retrieval







- Verify that the anti-lock brake warning indicator illuminated (prior to equipment hookup) in the KOEO test before continuing.

- Key ON. If using Rotunda Super STAR II Tester 007-0041B, turn the key ON, wait two seconds, then turn the tester ON.

- Does the anti-lock brake warning indicator flash briefly then go out?

NOTE: When a diagnostic trouble code is reported on the analog VOM, it will represent itself as a pulsing or sweeping movement of the voltmeter's needle across the dial face. Codes will be repeated after all memory codes have been displayed once.

YES -- ABS OK. Problem is in the mechanical or hydraulic brake system(s).

NO -- (Warning indicator illuminates constantly). Record VOM or tester diagnostic trouble codes. Erase diagnostic trouble codes from memory. Re-attempt diagnostic trouble code retrieval. Record all re-created diagnostic trouble codes and refer to Code Identification Chart. Service re-created codes as necessary. If the problem still exists or if no codes were re-created, proceed to QT8. (Codes that were not re-created indicate past or intermittent faults.) QT8 Perform Continuous Test

NO -- (Warning indicator flashes service codes). Indicates past or intermittent fault(s). Be sure to record the diagnostic trouble codes before erasing faults. Erase diagnostic trouble codes from the memory, then proceed to QT8. QT8 Perform Continuous Test
