Child Safety Seat Tether Attachment

Canadian Vehicles
All vehicles built for sale in Canada include a tether anchor hardware kit for use with Canadian child safety seats. Attachment holes (at each rear seating position) have been provided in the vehicle to attach the anchor hardware, if required. Additional kits can be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

USA Vehicles
Vehicles built for sale in the USA do not include a tether anchor hardware kit for use with child safety seats. However, attachment holes (at each rear seating position) have been provided to attach the tether anchor hardware. Tether anchor hardware kits can be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer.






3-Door and 5-Door
To attach the tether anchors in these vehicles, remove the trim plugs covering the access holes (at locations shown). This may be accomplished by prying the trim plugs out with a screwdriver. Install the hardware for anchoring the tether, following instructions that come with the tether anchorage hardware kit.






Sedan
To attach the tether anchors in these vehicles, holes have to be cut through the package tray (at locations shown) with a sharp knife. Install the hardware for anchoring the tether, following the instructions that come with the tether anchorage hardware kit.






Wagon
To attach the tether anchors in these vehicles, remove the trim plugs covering the access holes (at locations shown). This may be accomplished by prying the trim plugs out with a screwdriver. Install the hardware for anchoring the tether, following the instructions that come with the tether anchorage hardware kit.
