Test Notes

Normal Operation
Pin 7 of the air bag diagnostic monitor should be connected to ground, which is the passenger delete circuit. Connecting Pin 7 to ground programs the air bag diagnostic monitor to ignore high resistance on the circuits passenger side air bag module, which in this system are open pins (8 and 9). If Pin 7 is not grounded, the air bag diagnostic monitor will flash code 33.

Possible Causes
A high resistance or open in the passenger delete circuit can be caused by:
1. Pin 7 not connected to ground. The wire in pin location 7 in the black air bag diagnostic monitor harness connector should be grounded.
