Section II - Resistance Value Is Below 3.2 Ohms

1. Replace locking wedge in connector and reconnect to Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor.

2. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Cycle the ignition switch.

4. If DTC 32 is not present:

a. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 minute.

b. Reconnect the air bag.

c. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

d. Cycle the ignition switch.

5. After Steps 4a-4d have been completed, perform the following:

a. If DTC 32 is present, replace the Air Bag Module, referring to 1994 Escort/Tracer Service Manual, Section 01-20B If DTC 32 is still present:

^ Replace the Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor, referring to the 1994 Escort/Tracer Service Manual, Section 01-20B.

^ Verify DTC 32 is not present and return the vehicle to the customer.

b. If DTC 32 is not present, visually inspect the driver air bag module pigtail and Multi-function Switch for damaged wiring. If there is any evidence of damage, replace the suspect components, referring to the 1994 Escort/Tracer Service Manual, Section 01-20B.

c. Return vehicle to customer.
