Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.

3. Remove the manual control lever nut securing the park actuator support to the manual control lever.

4. Remove the park actuator support from the manual control lever.


Transmission Range Switch Electrical Connectors:





Manual Lever Position (MLP) Switch Connector:






5. Disconnect the three electrical connectors located on the top of the transaxle.

6. Disconnect the electrical connector located on the front side of the transaxle.


Transmission Range Switch:






7. Remove the two bolts securing the Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch.

8. Remove the bolts securing the electrical connector brackets to the top of the transaxle case.

9. Remove the MLP switch from the manual control lever.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the MLP switch onto the manual control lever.

2. Install the bolts securing the electrical connector brackets to the case.

3. Install the bolts securing the MLP switch but do not tighten them.

4. Connect the electrical connectors located on the top and on the side of the transaxle case.

5. Adjust the MLP switch.

6. Tighten the manual control lever nut to 44-64 Nm (33-47 lb ft).

7. Install the air cleaner outlet tube.

8. Connect the battery ground cable.
