Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Body

REMOVE

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301).

2. Remove the inlet air duct that connects to the throttle body (9E926) and engine air intake resonator (9F763).

3. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connectors.

4. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) and Bypass Air (BPA) hoses from the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve (9F715).

5. Partially drain the cooling system, remove the coolant hoses from the Throttle Body.

6. Disconnect the accelerator cable (9A758) from the throttle cam. If equipped with automatic transaxle (4EAT), disconnect the throttle valve control actuating cable (7F042) from the throttle cam.

7. Remove the four throttle body bolts.

8. Remove the throttle body.

9. Remove the throttle body gasket (9E936).

INSTALL


^ To install reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the throttle body bolts to 19-25 Nm (14-19 ft lb).
