Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type while working on or near any fuel related component(s).Fuel Rail:
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Relieve fuel system pressure see Fuel Pressure Release Procedure. Service and Repair
3. Disconnect fuel pressure and return line spring lock couplings
NOTE: Use a rag as protection from the fuel spray when disconnecting the hoses. Plug the hoses after disconnection.
4. Disconnect PCV hose from intake plenum and cylinder head cover.
Fuel Pressure Regulator And PCV Valve Location:
5. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
Wiring Harness Connector:
6. Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness connectors.
7. Remove fuel rail mounting bolts and fuel rail.
8. Remove fuel injectors,grommets, and insulators.
INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate new O-rings with clean engine oil and install them on fuel injectors.
2. Install injectors, grommets, and insulators onto fuel rail.
3. Place fuel rail into mounting position.
4. Install fuel rail mounting bolts and tighten to 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 19 ft lb).
5. Plug in injector wiring harness electrical connectors.
6. Connect vacuum hose to pressure regulator.
7. Connect PCV hose to intake plenum and cylinder head cover.
8. Connect fuel line spring lock couplings.
9. Connect negative battery cable.
10. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
