Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
WARNING:DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related component. DO NOT work on any fuel related components when the engine is hot. DO NOT allow excess fuel from fuel filter or lines to contact any engine or exhaust components.Fuel Filter:

REMOVE
1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Position a suitable container below filter to collect fuel that may leak.
4. Remove retaining clip from filter upper hose.
5. Disconnect upper hose from filter and drain fuel into container. Plug hose.
6. Loosen fuel filter mounting clamp.
7. Raise vehicle.
8. Remove retaining clip from lower filter hose.
9. Disconnect lower hose from filter and drain fuel into container. Plug hose.
10. Lower vehicle and remove filter.
INSTALL
1. Position new filter and tighten mounting clamp.
2. Connect upper filter hose.
3. Install upper hose retaining clip.
4. Raise vehicle.
5. Connect lower filter hose.
6. Install lower hose retaining clip.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Connect negative battery cable.
9. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
