Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove resonance duct, then disconnect upper radiator hose.
3. Remove cooling fan, then raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold and remove gasket.
5. Remove two bolts from exhaust pipe support bracket.
6. Remove lefthand side lower splash shield, then the cooling fan lower mounting bolts.
7. Lower vehicle and disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
8. Remove manifold heat shield, then manifold mounting nuts and manifold assembly.
9. Remove all gasket material from cylinder head and manifold.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Torque exhaust manifold to 28-34 ft lb.
