Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel assembly.2. Remove cotter pin from tie rod end stud, then the slotted nut.
3. Using tie rod end remover 3290C and adapter T81P-3504-W, or equivalents, remove tie rod end from knuckle.
4. Remove brake caliper, then the hub from the driveshaft.
5. Loosen two top mount nuts. Do not remove nuts.
6. Remove pinch bolt and nut securing lower arm to steering knuckle, then using a screwdriver, separate lower arm from knuckle. Ensure steering column is in unlocked position. Do not use a hammer to separate ball joint from knuckle.
7. Remove shock absorber strut to steering knuckle pinch bolt, then using a screwdriver, slightly open knuckle to strut pinch joint.

8. Remove steering knuckle from shock absorber strut, then from the vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
