Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Using a suitable tool, remove accelerator cable snap-in nylon bushing from pedal arm.

2. Remove accelerator pedal and shaft retaining bolt.

INSTALLATION

1. Position accelerator pedal and shaft in dash weld-on bracket and install retaining/pivot bolt. Tighten bolt to 11-13 Nm (8-9 lb ft).

2. Ensure that carpeting and/or body insulation is properly positioned.

3. Snap cable nylon bushing into pedal arm.

4. Check pedal assembly for smooth operation.
