Charge Lamp/Indicator: Testing and Inspection

Connecting Regulator Wiring Plug.:





1. If charging system indicator lamp does not come ON, disconnect regulator wiring plug connector, then connect jumper wire from regulator wiring plug "I" terminal to battery negative post cable clamp.
2. With engine OFF, turn ignition to RUN position.
3. If lamp does not light, proceed as follows:
a. Ensure socket leads contact flexible printed circuit. Repair as necessary.
b. Ensure bulb is in good working condition. Replace as necessary.
c. If bulb is in good condition, but still does not light, diagnose and test regulator.
4. If lamp does light, proceed as follows:
a. Remove jumper wire and connect regulator wiring plug.
b. Connect suitable voltmeter negative lead to battery negative post and positive lead to regulator "A" terminal screw.
c. If battery voltage is not indicated, service "A" circuit.
