PAIR System:

PURPOSE
The Pulsed Secondary Air Injection (PAIR) system is designed to help in the reduction of HC and CO emissions, by supplying additional oxygen into the exhaust system. This allows the hot exhaust gases to continue the combustion process of remaining unburned air/fuel charge, and to begin oxidizing HC and CO emissions.

OPERATION
The (PAIR) system does not use an air pump, but uses natural pulses present in the exhaust system to pull air into the catalyst through pulse air valves.

CONSTRUCTION
The PAIR valve is connected to the catalyst with a long tube and to the air cleaner and silencer with hoses.
