KL7 - Check Continuity of SIL Circuit

- Key "OFF".

- Shift Indicator Light (SIL) dimmer relay disconnected.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Measure resistance between test pin 53 at the breakout box and the SIL circuit connector for pin 3.

- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Replace PCM. Remove breakout box. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Service open circuit between SIL dimmer relay and the PCM. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Verify SIL operation.
